FALL UPDATES & DESIGNING WITH INTENTION With Ginger Williamson
Written By Ginger Williamson
Hi there! I’m Ginger Williamson, and as we coast into fall, I’m thrilled to share a few of my favorite design elements I’m currently loving, along with some exciting personal updates.
WHAT I'M INTO LATELY:
Right now, I’m all about deep greens and brushed golds. These rich, earthy tones paired with warm metallics bring both elegance and a grounded feel to any space. Whether it’s a striking accent wall, upholstered furniture, or just a hint of greenery in your décor, deep greens create a serene yet sophisticated atmosphere. And when you mix in brushed gold hardware or light fixtures? Instant luxury.
Another favorite of mine lately is veneer reeded cabinet doors in shale with a black glaze finish. This textural element adds depth and a custom feel that elevates cabinetry from ordinary to extraordinary. It’s perfect for those who appreciate clean lines but want a bit more visual interest. The black glaze enhances the natural grain, adding a subtle contrast that feels both modern and timeless.
MY DESIGN PHILOSOPHY:
I’ve always believed in creating spaces that tell a story and stand the test of time. For me, it’s not about chasing trends; it’s about finding timeless, well-crafted pieces that feel authentic. I gravitate toward handmade items with attention to detail, quality materials, and craftsmanship that speaks for itself. When you select finishes and furnishings you genuinely love, they’ll never feel dated—and you’ll enjoy living with them for years to come.
PERSONAL LIFE UPDATE:
On a more personal note, life has been an absolute whirlwind of excitement recently. A month before the wedding, 15 of my closest girlfriends and I celebrated my bachelorette party at Margaritaville on Fort Myers Beach, and let me tell you—it was a blast! There’s nothing quite like having your favorite people together in one place, celebrating such a special moment.
Speaking of special moments, I got married on July 4th, 2024, to my best friend on our 10-year anniversary! We tied the knot up around Lake Michigan, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. My husband and I first met while working in the hospitality industry, which sparked a shared passion for exceptional service and culinary experiences. As newlyweds, we’ve been indulging that passion by exploring local restaurants, tasting new dishes, and enjoying thoughtfully paired wines. It’s become one of our favorite date night activities!
DESIGNING FOR LONGEVITY:
One tip I always give my clients is to choose finishes and furnishings you fall in love with, rather than ones that feel like a passing trend. Design is an investment, and the best investments are ones you’ll appreciate for years to come. When it comes to cabinetry, I love incorporating materials like the reeded doors I mentioned earlier because they offer a unique texture and timeless style that you won’t grow tired of.
I’m also a big fan of mixing materials—think natural wood tones with polished stone countertops, or plush fabrics paired with sleek metals. It creates a dynamic balance that keeps a space feeling both inviting and sophisticated.
I hope these tips help inspire you to create a home that feels as personal and enduring as the memories we make in it. Thanks for letting me share a little glimpse into both my professional and personal world! Stay tuned for more design insights and updates from me and the team at Abbie Joan Fine Living.
