Founded in 2000 by Abbie Sladick and grown alongside her husband, Paul, we have proudly transitioned to an employee-owned company as of May 2024 and couldn’t be more excited about the future! Founder/Visionary
Abbie, the visionary behind Abbie Joan Design & Remodel, established her Naples-based design-build firm 24 years ago with the goal of creating a client-focused company that seamlessly blends timeless design with extensive construction expertise. Since its inception, she has been steadfast in her mission to ensure each client feels at ease, confident, and fully supported throughout every phase of their project. She and her husband, Paul, also dreamt of building an inclusive company whose culture celebrated diversity and welcoming people from all walks of life.
Integrator
At Abbie Joan Design & Remodel, we take pride in being a family-oriented team. Paul Sladick, Abbie's husband, is the perfect complement to her design expertise. He brings extensive knowledge of construction, cabinetry design, and project management to every endeavor, paired with a firm commitment to excellence. With a great sense of humor and quick wit, Paul keeps the entire team motivated and smiling throughout the workday. Originally from Michigan, Paul's Midwest sensibilities are evident in how he approaches every situation. Having made Southwest Florida their home since the late '80s, both Paul and Abbie are deeply ingrained in the local business community. Finance & Admin Manager
Amanda brings 10 years of experience in both construction and finance, and a well-rounded level of expertise to our team. Born in Staten Island, Amanda has lived on both coasts of Florida, spending 8 years in Fort Lauderdale before settling in Naples with her family in 1997. She furthered her education at Florida Southwestern and has since applied herself to growing a deep understanding of the design-build industry. She's known for her attention to detail, tech-savviness, and dedication to helping our clients. As our Finance & Admin Manager, Amanda plays a pivotal role in keeping our accounting, purchasing, and contracting departments in perfect order. In her free time, she enjoys painting, spending time with her family, and spoiling her dog, Nala.
Interior Designer
Ginger adds a level of enthusiasm to our team as Abbie Joan Design & Remodel's Interior Designer. A Naples native, she began her design journey at the International Academy of Design and Technology in Tampa, where she refined her skills and has since developed an impressive portfolio as a fine artist. With almost 18 years in the design industry, Ginger offers a well-rounded skillset influenced by her father's background in construction and her mother's artistic talent. Her role involves closely collaborating with clients to bring their design visions to life. Outside of work, Ginger is a dedicated caregiver to her parents, Dale and Carolyn. She now calls Bonita Springs home, residing with her fiancé, Brian, and their beloved dog, Phillip.
Jr. Interior Designer
Colin is our vibrant Junior Interior Designer at Abbie Joan Design & Remodel. His design journey started with a love for art, leading him to pursue a BFA in Art History from the University of Missouri. After working for an architect, Colin found his love for design and pursued an interior design degree through the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Originally from Springfield, IL, he now splits his time between Chicago and sunny Naples, FL. With a keen eye for style and a passion for all things vintage, Colin injects charisma into every project he touches. Whether he’s crafting fresh designs or hunting for the perfect finishing touch, Colin brings a unique style to the AJFL team and a fun dose of personality we all enjoy.
Office Manager
Jasmine is our esteemed Office Manager and integral team member who’s always finding ways to improve things. With 30 years of experience in administrative management, she brings a wealth of knowledge to Abbie Joan Design & Remodel, wearing many hats and managing diverse tasks. Jasmine's composed demeanor and multi-disciplinary skills ensure the smooth operation of our office and team. In addition to her role as our trusted Office Manager, Jasmine is a dedicated mother to her 8 children, including our Finance & Admin Manager, Amanda. She has been happily married to her husband, Nestor, for 35 years. Originally from Brooklyn, she moved to sunny Florida in 1997. On her days off, Jasmine enjoys quality time with her family, creating fun memories camping and on vacations, and caring for her two rottweilers and cherished Yorkie, Babi.
Production Manager
Walter is one of the people that makes an Abbie Joan Project Experience so special. He prides himself on the level of craftsmanship, cleanliness, quality and safety at his projects’ sites. This is not just a job; it is his way of living. Walter is an early riser dedicated to getting a workout and meditation in to help prepare him for the day. He’s originally from Connecticut, and when not working, loves enjoying Naples’ outdoors with his partner, Shelly, and 2 children, Sophia and Dorio.
Assistant Production Manager
Daniel is a skilled painter with a keen eye for detail and a reputation for delivering top-quality finishes. With a can-do attitude and a big smile, he brings positivity and professionalism to every project. Born in Colombia, Daniel has built strong relationships with clients who already know and love his work. Outside of painting, he’s a proud father of three children, balancing his dedication to his craft with his love for family.
Project Manager
Frank is the perfect example of what makes Abbie Joan so special. He brings a level of caring, craftsmanship and commitment to every job he works on. Frank has been with us since our early days, joining our team after moving to Florida from New Jersey. Frank is the first person to the job in the morning (often before dawn), making sure he has the day organized and that he is mentally prepared for the tasks at hand.
Carpenter
Rey was born in Cuba and graduated with a degree in Carpentry from Antonio Maceo Grajales, located in Carretera a San Germán. Rey loves working with his hands and as one client told us, “He is a Ray of sunshine”. He is a loving father to his 2 children, Kevin, and Isabella. When not at work, Rey enjoys listening to music, and playing baseball and soccer with his children and dog, Coco.
Field Support
David is a multi-talented, hands-on team member who brings a positive attitude and a constant smile to everything he does. With a passion for learning and exploring new skills, he’s always up for a challenge. Outside of work, David is a dedicated dance instructor and enjoys staying active through sports. He’s also a big fan of chocolate, dogs, and roses. David is happily married and a proud father to a young son.
Kitchen and Bath Designer
Kareen is a talented kitchen and bathroom designer with a flair for creativity and a strong sense of style. Her background in theater and music brings a unique artistic touch to every design she creates. Outgoing, intelligent, and full of energy, Kareen has a passion for dancing and a well-known sweet tooth. She’s a proud mother of two sons and is deeply rooted in her faith. Kareen’s vibrant personality and design expertise make her an inspiring presence on our team.
Lead Painter
Jaiver is a skilled painter known for his precision, steady hand, and dedication to quality work. Though quiet and shy by nature, Jaiver’s warm spirit shines through when he’s in a positive, encouraging environment. He finds joy in music, snacks, and watching soccer in his downtime. Jaiver is married and a proud father to a son and daughter. His calm presence and craftsmanship make him a valued part of our team.
Architect
Laura has a sharp eye for design and a passion for innovative solutions, she brings both creativity and deep technical knowledge to every project. Outgoing and energetic, Laura thrives on collaboration and inspires those around her with fresh ideas and a can-do spirit. Whether she's sketching concepts, producing detailed plans or leading design discussions, she’s here to make great architecture happen.

We’re thrilled to welcome Mackenzie to the team. She is tactful, high-energy force with a sharp mind and unstoppable drive. With a natural ability to lead, organize, and execute, she’s already making waves and keeping the pace, and then some. Smart, strategic, and fearless, Mackenzie’s here to raise the bar and show the boys how it’s done.

There is nothing like the wiggle of a corgi butt to make you laugh. Beau brings his handsome smile to some of our client events and loves to be the subject of our Instagram posts.

With a big smile on his face and a wagging tail you can often find Bentley in the office ready to greet anyone coming by. He is our chocolate lab – pointer mix who loves coming in off the farm to spend time with Abbie under the design table.
My husband and I met with three different contractors before we made the decision on our small kitchen and bathroom remodel. Abbie Joan Design & Remodel was the most expensive, but it turned out to be the best decision we ever made, worth every penny. Everyone on Abbie's team from the Project Manager and Interior Design Consultant and the sub contractors were talented and top-notch professionals. People showed up on time, returned emails and phone calls promptly and cleaned up thoroughly every single day of the eight-week project. We lived next-door while the construction was ongoing so we were able to observe first -hand, on a daily basis, progress and problems and no project happens without some bumps in the road. Abbie and her team were committed to resolutions that were client oriented. And the very best part about working with Abbie Joan Design & Remodel is that they made the process fun and easy.
